leaving on the rapture train saturday?
then you might need someone to care for your loved pets and only an athiest will do- just to be sure you don't entrust the care of your pet to someone who is receiving a surprise rapture.. .
atheists offer pet help after judgment day.
How come only Americans are gonna be raptured on Saturday?
Did they earn it or qualify for it?

They called it a symposium at our KH when 2 bros were giving the public talk.
we must obey the faithful and discreet slave if we are to have jehovah's approval - ws7/15/2011.
if this is true, it begs the questions:.
who is this slave and who are the domestics?
Wontleave,
A brilliant summation. I hope you don't mind but I have copied and pasted it into my JW Scrapbook.
pdfs can be obtained at jw.org.... spiritual gem #1. perhaps witnesses should apply the standard the wt recommends for gathering information on the internet to wt publications; from page 4:.

material?
For example, some may have the wrong idea about going to heaven because of what they believed in the past or because they have mental or emotional problems
Perhaps when preparing for baptism the candidates should be asked pertinent questions regarding previous Babylonish beliefs and doctrines in order to ascertain whether these have been rejected or not. If not, then they obviously require further indoctrination and until they do should be precluded from baptism.
Spending quality time in close company with some-one will usually ascertain whether they have some sort of mental or emotional problem. Those who do should also be precluded from baptism.
Simples!
some brothers at my last kh just could not pronounce the surnames of other members of our congregation especially african and dutch surnames so they used their first name or an abbreviated version of their first name.. i was wondering why we weren't all called by our first names?
much more friendly.
the only time my surname is used outside the kh is by strangers or authority figures so why the use of surnames from the platform by people who would at all other times be using your first name?.
"being under his headship and not standing just on her own...it shows the congregation that she is submissive to him
and not standing aside and going her own way". How asinine!!
I think some congregations make up the rules as they go along because Spanish women do not take the man's surname on marriage. When born, children are given the father's first surname and the mother's first surname. They keep those two names all their lives, whether they get married or not.

many years ago before assembly halls we used to hire large halls for circuit assemblies.
the public talk, always after lunch on the sunday was always the big (though boring) event.
the chairman sat on the stage all the time whilst the speaker for the hour long talk droned on.
This isn't entertaining it's gross, but its still talked and laughed about years later .
Whilst brother D.W. was sat waiting to read the next paragraph of The Watchtower he put his finger up his nose and very obviously retrieved something out of it. He then proceeded to roll it betwen his fingers and then flicked it onto the carpet where it sat for the rest of the meeting.
any chance anybody has it uploaded someplace?.
I would like it too please, especially if someone has the original version which contained only "old light".
i'm scheduled to appear on atheists talk radio show this sunday (i'll have to miss the public talk, though).. here's a link about it: radio program.. does anyone have any advice for me?
or - do you have anything you think i really need to mention?
(like new light or some recent crazy statement in the tower.).
A recent radio interview was aired over here and a phone call was made to Bethel London by the BBC regarding the Jehovah's Witness policy on shunning. This is the Bethel statement, verbatim:
"Witnesses do not shun family members because of differences in religious beliefs.
Many Witnesses have religiously mixed families and enjoy normal loving relationships together. If a family member who is a baptized Witness is disfellowshipped the spiritual ties he had with his family change, but blood ties remain. Accordingly, the marriage relationship and normal family affections and dealings can continue.
As for disfellowshipped relatives not living in the same household we apply the counsel from the Bible at 1 Corinthians: "quit mixing with them." The scriptures are sacred to us and we therefore take this counsel seriously. The degree of family contact is a personal decision based on one's Bible trained conscience. If there are consequences, these relate primarily to one's relationship with God."
Any-one not knowing any different and hearing that might wonder what all the fuss was about.
